We’ve had an incredible year fuelled by many spectacular moments at Landing Forty Two. With the festive season in full swing, we’ve taken a moment to look out over our beautiful panoramic London view and reflect upon our very best highlights.
Celebrating our partnership with luxury caterer Moving Venue
In the first quarter of the year we announced that the Vibration Group had formed a unique collaboration with Moving Venue, the luxury catering brand in the Smart Group of companies.
It was a really exciting announcement for us here at Landing Forty Two. Our partnership is the perfect match enabling us to present guests with food and drink options that are as superlative as our astounding skyline views. With our full-service in-house kitchen, the Moving Venue team can freshly craft bespoke options for everything from canapé receptions, moreish morning breakfasts to sumptuous three course dinners.
To celebrate we welcomed 150 guests with attendees including Kuoni, Clifford Chance, Barclays, EMAP and Hello Magazine. With everyone feasting on Moving Venue treats such as tequila-cured Scottish salmon loin with Oscietra caviar before polishing mini bags of warm salted caramel doughnuts, the event was certainly a very sweet start to our exciting year.
Hearing topical viewpoints at the QBE Sport Leadership Breakfast
In our second quarter, business insurance specialist QBE selected us as their venue of choice for a thought leadership breakfast.
With Moving Venue’s healthy breakfast options in full swing, we welcomed 100 guests to enjoy a panel discussion lead by BBC journalist Sue Thearle. With conversation centred on the ‘Power of the People’, panellists illuminated the importance of a support network in business as they drew parallels between the spheres of sport and business.
Hearing speakers such as retired English rugby union player and former captain of the English National team, Lawrence Dallaglio OBE and Director of UK and Ireland Retail at QBE, Matthew Crane voice their thoughts on such topical issues was a real highlight for our team. Surrounded by our inspiring floor-to-ceiling views of London’s magnificent panorama, we were reminded that at Landing’s great height, great ideas are born.
ICAS Young Leaders Summit
ICAS hosted a one day summit to discuss and celebrate young winners of awards in Entrepreneurship, Innovation & Technology, Leadership & Influence and Sustainability & CSR.
A series of talks by entrepreneurial inspirations including Holly Tucker MBE, Founder of Holly & Co and Co-Founder of NotOnTheHighStreet.com and Kate Robertson, Co-Founder of One Young World brought attendees to the front-line of ideas shaping future business.
As established and emerging brilliant minds were brought together over Moving Venue’s delicious lunch and a pre-awards reception, our whole team felt the event was a calendrical pinnacle. Ideas were pollinated and concepts blossomed and the Leadenhall’s futuristic architecture felt like a metaphor for the event’s masterly ideas of tomorrow. We even found ourselves with a host of new friends- the oh-so-cute zebra soft toys that were left for guests to take away!
Futristic Drinks Reception with Intertrust Guernsey
The sky truly was the limit as Intertust Guersey hosted a spectacularly themed drinks reception in quarter four. With all eyes on tomorrow’s innovations, Intertrust ideated a futuristic vision fuelling every little detail.
External suppliers Lick Me Delicious created sweet treats that seemed to come straight from a future society. Mist orbs revealed ever-changing ice cream flavours as chocolate pops emerged complete with the Intertrust logo.
Further innovations came courtesy of wall artist Richard Fairhead who transformed Landing’s floor-to-ceiling windows with his iconic one-line illustrations. Richard traced the outline of the iconic buildings seen from our skyline views and added some rather futuristic looking creatures to the mix.
To top Landing’s makeover into Tomorrowland off, the event even included a virtual reality racing car for guests to drive in the clouds in style.
The team loved having a look at the possibilities that lie ahead. Further still, the event highlighted the true flexibility of our spectacular space.
The Spectator’s breakfast meeting with BAE systems
Topping off our year of remarkable moments, The Spectator and BAE systems hosted a bespoke breakfast conference with a discussion panel focused on Prosperity Britain. A hot debate on Britain’s best economic steps forward saw top journalist Andrew Neil lead questions from the panel of businessman, policy-makers and politicians including Allie Renison, Tony Danker, Sir Roger Carr and Kwasi Kwarteng.
As discussion became heated and audiences even more enthralled, Moving Venue was on hand to set the morning with a top start with their delicious, healthy breakfast.
With a branded breakfast bar covered in iconic issues of The Spectator and morning sun beaming in through our windows, future prosperity could never have looked so golden!
What a wonderful 2017 we’ve had a Landing Forty Two. Thank you to all our clients for creating so many special moments. We can’t wait to do it all again in 2018!
