Yasemin is an Event Manager here at Landing Forty Two, looking after a huge range of events high above the streets of London. We caught up with her to find out more about her experience, and how she got into the industry – and we took a sneaky peek at her favourite Instagram shots too, for a real insight into her world.
1. What was the best event you’ve worked at and why?
The best event I have worked on was the official launch of the Leadenhall Building. The event was top secret and we had some very special guests (Prince Harry and Prince William!) It was such a surprise and was so lovely getting to tell guests that they were selected for the meet and greet session with them. The event was a huge success and all the guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves and everyone left smiling!
2. How did you get into events?
My aunty makes wedding dresses and from the age on 16 I used to help her with the wedding shows she exhibited at. I slowly became obsessed with weddings and decided I would like to be a wedding planner, therefore I chose to do my degree in Events Management at Bournemouth University. Once at University I decided that I would no longer like to plan weddings but would like to gain experience in the corporate event industry.
3. What is your party trick?
I can do a REALLY good impression of a dolphin!
4. What makes you excited about events?
I love working under pressure and enjoy the slight possibility of things going wrong so that I can resolve them quickly. It is always such a lovely achievement when you see people enjoying themselves. People have very stressful jobs and its great to offer them an element of escapism so relax and enjoy themselves.
5. What are your hobbies?
I love baking and going to the gym… that way I can eat as much cake as I want without feeling guilty!
